H2O

I often remind myself how important this molecule is in my life. At least once a day, I catch myself pondering the ridiculous properties of water. So simple. Yet, it is the most unique molecule on our planet that defies the traditional rules of chemistry and defines our existence. Without water, of course there would be no life, but SHIT I would lose a lot of my hobbies, smell really bad and not pay as much to live in Southern California.  

It seems integral that I begin with this love affair between 2 hydrogens and 1 oxygen. Their affinity for each other is rather disgusting and easily manifested. If any of my friends were ever that clingy I would definitely have to break it up, but in this case, I know this affinity results in awesome magnificence. My love and respect for marine ecosystems, as well as my desire to create environmental and social change, begins with this SMALL molecule that when multiplied creates our rivers, lakes, streams and oceans. These water sources harvest and house vast organisms that contribute to the health and integrity of our global ecosystem--and that warrants respect. In an overpopulated world dominated by humans, this is naturally an ongoing-bloody battle.  

So here is what it is. I know there has to be a marvelous arrangement in this universe. Scientifically speaking, we are all connected through biological processes that initiate cyclic interactions within and among us. We are. 

MESSAGE TO YOU HUMANS:

Get off your high horse. 

We cannot and will NOT ever be able to live alone as a species.

We are a carefully woven matrix and some of the most important players are the ones in the ocean...our origin.
